Privacy Policy

This policy explains the categories of information Shareout handles to provide file sharing.

Last updated April 28, 2026

Information we collect

We collect account information, payment status, API keys, uploaded file metadata, and operational logs needed to run the service. Uploaded files are stored so your links can be accessed while the files remain active.

How we use information

We use information to authenticate users, process uploads, serve shared links, enforce storage limits, provide support, prevent abuse, monitor reliability, and improve Shareout.

Sharing and processors

We may share information with infrastructure, authentication, analytics, and payment providers that help operate Shareout. We do not sell personal information.

File access

Anyone with a shared link may be able to access the linked file. Delete shared files when you no longer want them available or counting against active storage.

Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, maintain security, and support business records. Deleted files may take a limited time to disappear from backups and logs.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards to protect information. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so keep your account credentials and API keys private.

Your choices

You can delete files from your account, rotate credentials where available, and contact us about account or privacy requests. Some information may be retained where required for legal, security, or operational reasons.
